It’s spring time and we made it through the first quarter of 2017!
This is my favorite time of the year! The weather is getting nicer and I’m making the transition from treadmill miles to road miles.
The month of March flew by. Here is a recap of what I’ve been up to since my last blog post:
RRCA Convention
I attended the Road Runners Club of America National Convention in Detroit. I learned so much over the course of three days. I attended the running coach certification course during the convention. The instructors were very knowledgeable and I met some awesome runners from all over the US and abroad.
Certified Running Coach
One week after the convention I took the test to become a certified running coach and I passed. I was so proud when I received my results. I even did a happy dance 😀
New Routine
I designed a new weight training and running routine. I love weight training and I love running. I had to design a routine that allowed me to do both and that would compliment one another. Here is my new routine:
Monday – Chest, Back, and a 5 mile run
Tuesday – Shoulders, Abs, and a 5 mile run
Wednesday – Run 7-10 miles
Thursday – Legs and a 5 mile run
Friday – Triceps, Biceps, and a 5 mile run
Saturday – Run 7-14 miles
Races
Corktown Race in Detroit – This race was the same weekend as the convention. I did not run this race.
Pot of Gold 4 Mile Run in Flint – It snowed the entire race! I decided to take it easy and made it a fun run. I had a good time. Check out the cool medal.
Today’s Run Summary
Distance: 7 miles
Average pace: 8:30/mile
Duration: 110 min(includes warm-up and cool down)
Miles YTD: 351.25 miles
Until next time my friends! Be more, Do more! Let’s Go!
