It was once a dream…

Hello good people!  We’ve been blessed with another day!

I had an epic weight training session this morning followed by an awesome 3 mile run on the treadmill. During my run I was thinking about when I first began running over 11 years ago. My motivation to begin running was to get in shape for my wedding. I read that running burned a lot of calories so I decided to pick up running to help shed some weight. I started out running a quarter mile and worked my way up to a mile. Then from there I set a goal to get up to two miles. Before I knew it, I worked my way up to 3.5 miles.

I was always fascinated with seeing people out running. I was even more fascinated with people that ran marathons. There was a time I wished to myself, one day I will be one of those cool people.

I remember running across a flyer one day. The flyer grabbed my attention because it mentioned something about a poker challenge. I love playing poker. Well, the flyer was a little deceiving. It was actually for  a local 5K race. Up to that point I haven’t participated in a race or had any idea how they were organized. But something sparked my curiosity. I was running over three miles at the time and I felt confident that I could complete this race. So I signed up. This was a life changing experience.

This is how it all began 😀 Since then, I ran over 7000 miles, completed over 100 races (7 were Marathons, 39 were Half Marathons). I enjoy running and enjoy running in races. I’ve met a lot of cool people over the years and traveled to some cool places to participate in races. Running is one of my passions ❤️

Until next time my friends! Be more, Do more! Let’s Go!
