No Excuses! 

Hello Friends! I ran 11 miles this morning. Today is the 3rd day of fall and it definitely felt like it. The temperature was right around 50 degrees when I started the run at 5:30am. I wore shorts with a short sleeve tech shirt. I also wore my high visibility vest and LED head lamp. My goal was to run 10 miles. I was feeling so good during the run, I decided to add an extra mile. 



During today’s run, I was thinking about the week ahead and planning my approach. I will be doing some traveling during the work week that will take me out of my normal routine. I recall a time in my life where I would allow any excuse prevent me from running or working out. For example, if I had to do some traveling or extra driving during the week I would just skip my workouts. Another excuse I would use is “the weather is crappy” and I would skip my workout. I can write a book on excuses I’ve used in the past. 

I’m glad I overcame that mindset. Over the years I have adopted a no excuses mentality. I don’t allow excuses to get in the way of my goals or plans. I learned to be flexible and how to adjust to shifting demands. Let me tell you, having this mindset keeps me on track and is a key to success in my journey. A person can come up with a million excuses not to do something, but all it takes is one compelling reason to take action and stick with the plan.
